Uplifting Agriculture:  Government support and Subsidies in agriculture.

India's heart lies in Rajasthan because of its abundant culture and rich heritage, agriculture stands as the backbone of its economy, supporting millions of livelihoods.

Therefore, in Rajasthan the modern agricultural mechanisation is must to remove or solve the old age methods or challenges, for which the government provides subsidy to farmers to buy agricultural implements and mechanized

 their farms.

Now there are two types of Subsidies which are authorised by the government.

●      SMAM scheme (Submission on Agri mechanisation)

●      Shendent House Scheme (in Horticulture)

SMAM scheme (Submission on Agri mechanisation)

This scheme is the flagship scheme in Bharat and in this, there are central and state components available, 60% of cost is shared by the central government and the rest of 40% were shared by state government.

Method for applying this scheme are as follows:

●      Firstly, the farmer is required to bring the quotation from the implement or equipment manufacturer/ supplier for the item/ product for which he desires to take the benefit of subsidy from the Agri dept.

●      Then he/she needs to collect the following documents.

1.     Copy of the first page of the bank passbook on which the details of the beneficiary are given.

2.      Copy of any ID proof (Aadhar card/ Driving License/ Voter ID card/ Passport)

3.      Copy of caste category certificate in case of SC/ ST/ OBC.  

●       After collecting these documents and quotations, customer/ farmer needs to upload them on www.rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in by any nearby E-mitra.

●      After successful upload of the docs, the farmer needs to wait for at least 2-3 weeks for administrative permission to buy the implement for that purpose, the farmer will be intimidated by the message on the registered mobile number. Otherwise, farmers can also confirm it with e-Mitra.

●      After the administrative permission, Farmer can go to the implement manufacturer or supplier to buy the implement and get the original bill or invoice from the supplier.

●      Now this original bill is also uploaded on the same portal.

●      To verify the implementation, purchase for subsidy, agriculture supervisor or Assistant Agriculture Officer (AAO) will visit farmers' place and after verifying the product documents, he will approve the case and then farmer through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

In other cases, if the supervisor or AAO is not satisfied with the product or has any other legitimate doubt, then the subsidy can be rejected. 

Apart from this the farmer can be availed with this subsidy scheme for agriculture mechanization once in three years.

Shedent House Scheme (in Horticulture)

The Shedent House is a structure enclosed by Argo nets or any other woven material to allow required sunlight, moisture and air to pass through the gaps.  It is also called Shednet house or net house.

 

This Shedent House Scheme helps farmers to earn more income by cultivating horticultural crops like vegetables, Flowers, Fruits by controlling the agriculture climatic factors temperature, humidity and sunlight. And this house can only be build or construct after the approval of horticulture administrative.

After the construction of Shednet House, verification will be done by the committee formed. Subsidy amount directly into the bank account of the farmer or the producer firm based on the written consent of the farmer.  

Benefits of this subsidy:     

●       For a maximum area of 4000 sq. metres.

●      50% subsidy is given to general category farmers.

●      70% subsidy is given to small, marginal, scheduled caste, and scheduled tribe farmers.

●      In compliance with the Chief Minister's budget announcement, 25% additional grant is being given to all the small and marginal farmers of the state along with farmers of the scheduled Tribe areas.

Eligibility:

●      The applicant should be a farmer.

●      The applicant should belong to Rajasthan.

●      The applicant must have agricultural land ownership and irrigation sources.

Method for applying this scheme are as follows:

●       The document farmers needs to collects are as follows:

1.     Soil and water test report.

2.    Quotation from approved firm.

3.     Proof of cast category certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC.

4.     Aadhar card/ Janadhar card,

5.     Copy of Jamabandi (not more then six months old)

●       Now Applicant have to visit the official portal (https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in/signin)

●      Click on the option “Register” for registration.

●      Then farmer will be redirected and appear to the following option. -Citizen.

●      Then farmer have to choose any one option from the Jan Aadhaar or Google and press according to that.

●      If farmer press Jan Aadhar: Enter the Jan Aadhaar number, click on the ‘Next’ button, write the name, and then click on the ‘Send OTP’ button. Enter the ‘OTP’ and click on the ‘verify OTP’ button to complete the registration.

●      If farmer press Google: Enter the G-mail id and click on the ‘Next’ button.                                                                                      Enter the password. A new link appear on screen, now click on the new SSO link. Then SSO id will appear on the screen and now create the SSO password. Then enter mobile number and click on registration.

●       And then Submit.

●      Applicant have to visit the official portal (https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in/signin)

●      After login, dashboard will open.

●      Then click on “RAJ-KISAN” option

●      In “Farmer”, click on Application Entry request.

●      Then enter the “Janaadhaar/Bhamashah ID” and then press on Search.

●      Then select the person’s name and scheme name. 

●      Then complete the Aadhaar Authentication and click on get details.

●      Provide the required details like Pensioner Details, Bank Details, Disability Details, Verification Details and upload Documents. 

●      Then Submit.

Conclusion:

The support of the government and subsidies were act as fuelling the agriculture in Rajasthan.
